SilkPeel is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment. It is beneficial for patients with acne, aging, fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation issues. SilkPeel is great for all skin types. This procedure uses exfoliation of the skin while simultaneously infusing condition-specific solutions deep into the skin.
A SilkPeel Microdermabrasion can improve:
- Fine lines & wrinkles
- Uneven skin tone
- Dry, rough skin texture
- Keratosis Pilaris (KP)
Dermalinfusion allows for deep delivery of solutions into the skin:
- Skin Hydration Solution
- Vitamin C Skin Hydrating Solution
- Pore Clarifying Solution with Salicylic Acid
- Skin Brightening Solution
You will see visible results after the first treatment, but will achieve optimal results after 4 to 6 treatments spaced about 2 weeks apart. After your series of microdermabrasions, a monthly maintenance treatment will help your skin stay healthy. Often times these treatments are alternated with chemical peels.
How do I know if I need SilkPeel?
Patients looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, age spots and acne concerns with no downtime are good candidates for this procedure. Patients who have diabetes, autoimmune disease, history of cold sores or have had injectable fillers in the area to be treated should let us know prior to having the SilkPeel. All skin types benefit from a SilkPeel.
What benefits can I expect?
To jump start your new skin we recommend 3-4 treatments 2 weeks apart and maintenance every 2-3 months. However, even one SilkPeel will usually refresh your skin for up to six weeks!
How will I look and feel during and after the treatment?
Your skincare professional will choose a solution formulated to address your skin’s condition. The SilkPeel infuses these products deep into the skin where they are most effective. The solution delivers hydrating, antioxidant, acne-fighting and pore-reducing, and/or lightening infusions into your skin. After cleansing and preparing your skin, your esthetician will perform the procedure with the specialized hand-piece.
The treatment uses a closed-loop vacuum system resembling that of a wand to exfoliate the skin. An aesthetician will recommend the appropriate topical to infuse the skin and stimulate new cell growth. Each pass gently abrades away dead skin, thoroughly and evenly exfoliating while infusing the treatment solution into the skin. Your skin immediately looks clearer and brighter and definitely feels smoother and your makeup will go on easily.
Patients can return back to work post treatment or resume their everyday routine. Mineral makeup is recommended as it heals and soothes the skin without irritation post procedure and covers up possible redness which should lighten after a few hours. Patients can expect to receive a complimentary touch up at skinfo Specialty Skincare Boutique located on the ground level, below the practice.
Is there another way to get the same effect?
Alternative forms of treatment for wrinkles and scars include BOTOX Cosmetic, Injectable fillers, Fraxel Re:store®, other fractional lasers, tissue tightening and laser peels, resurfacing, surgery, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and topical therapies.
The SilkPeel is different from other treatments as it is does not use harsh crystals that can irritate the skin like other microdermabrasion treatments.
Can this be combined with other treatments?
The SilkPeel may be combined with many other cosmetic treatments in our office such as Photorejuvenation, Tissue Tightening Lasers, BOTOX Cosmetic and Injectable fillers. Many patients choose to undergo combination treatments in order to achieve the maximum aesthetic result.
